Welcome to my webpage, I am an Associate Professor at the University of Groningen (The Netherlands). I work on gas dynamics and evolution of galaxies, including our Milky Way. I study the matter content of galaxies (stars, gas and dark matter) and the connection between galaxies and their surrounding environment (gas accretion and feedback). I teach two courses on astrophysical hydrodynamics and gas flows in galaxies. In this website you can find information and links about my work and my group.

Highlights

OPEN POSTDOC position
Applications are invited for a postdoctoral research position at the Kapteyn Astronomical Institute of the University of Groningen to work on hydrodynamic simulations of satellites interacting with the circumgalactic medium of the Milky Way. The work will exploit the new proper motions and orbits determined with ESA/Gaia.
